Happy Lohri

Happy Lohri

The festival of Lohri is celebrated every year on 13th of January with great joy and happiness. Lohri originally is a festival of Punjabi’s but now it’s celebrated by all with great pomp and show. Lohri is the shortest day of the year and it is considered that the festival commemorates the passing of the winter season.
People celebrate this day by lighting a bonfire at night and distributing gajak, ground nuts, jaggery and popcorn with their friends and family. Sarso ka saag, makki di roti is also one of the special meals of the day. On this day people also wear new clothes and dance around the bonfire they light at night.

In a softly glowing candle light,
May all your dreams come true.
Every star of every night brings
Luck and joy to you
Wishing you and your family a very HAPPY LOHR I!!
May this festival of zeal and verve
fill your life with lots of energy and enthusiasm
and may it help you bring happiness and prosperity
to you and your loved ones.
Happy Lohri to one and all from R.K. Public School, Garhwa !!
